As a child she emulated the role of a teacher in her playful activities. When she approached Dr.Modi for career guidance he advised her to join college because he felt it was always better to be a teaching faculty at a Government recognised college that also happened to be her alma mater. So heeding her mentor’s advice, she went and met college secretary who immediately appointed her.
From here, there was no looking back. It was here that hidden talent and capabilities came to the fore and she could establish herself as an excellent lecturer besides being an accomplished medico. Currently she is HOD-Physiology department at Z. V. M. Unani Medical College and Hospital, Camp, Pune, Maharashtra, India where she is teaching physiology subject to undergraduates for last nineteen years and medical genetics to the post graduate students for last ten years. She has been guest faculty to other colleges of different faculties like pharmacy, dental, nursing and senior college of science faculty.
One of the fascinating and enduring experiences was to register herself for M.Phil in Ayurveda at Pune University. Here she met Dr. Doephude, the Dean of the Ayurveda faculty who encouraged, supported and treated her like his own daughter. Though she was from Unani stream where the medical terminologies were in chaste Arabic, due to the immense support that she got from her teachers at University, she could easily master the Sanskritised terminologies of Ayurveda. Moreover she's always been a quick learner. After completing M.Phil she did Medical Genetics course from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. It was here that, after completing her Medical Genetic course, she was asked to teach ‘Genetics’ to the students of MD where she stood firmly and taught confidently. She is an approved PhD guide and Post Graduate Teacher at Maharashtra university of Health sciences.
